Diane Rose Swartwout, 77, of Springfield, Tenn., (formerly of Redgranite, Wis.) passed away on January 1, 2016 in Springfield, TN following her battle with lung cancer with her children by her side during her final hours.
Diane was born November 7, 1938 in Milwaukee, Wis. to the late Anton and Johanna (Nowak) Beringer. She enjoyed nature, gardening, singing, helping people and volunteering at NHC Health Care in Springfield, Tenn.
She is survived by her children: Kathleen (Jim) Hanegraaf, Richard (Hope) Swartwout, Annette (Ray) Klick, John (Birgit) Swartwout, and Alan Swartwout; siblings: Anthony Beringer, Charlotte (Bob) Hoffman, Peter Beringer, Joann (Dennis) Stachewicz, and Harold Beringer; ten grandchildren: Christopher (Laura) Hanegraaf, Joseph Hanegraaf, Stephanie (Travis) Rice, Alex Klick, Nicole (Aaron) Schoenecker, Jennifer (Zach Besaw) Swartwout, Brett Swartwout, Hunter Swartwout, Jonathon (Erin) Swartwout, and Samuel Swartwout; and four great-grandchildren: Blake, Olivia, Harrison, and Sebastion; and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Gordon and John Beringer; sister-in-law, Mary Beringer and nieces: Joann Martin-Sullivan-Welch and Nancy Martin-Hogle-Haley.
Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at the Parfreyville United Methodist Church of Waupaca (N1979 County Road K, Waupaca, WI 54981), the Rev. Eric Taylor officiating. Friends may call at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Should friends desire, memorials in Diane’s memory would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
