Anderson, JamesJames Richard Anderson, 88, of Wild Rose, WI passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Wednesday, April 20, 2016.

James was born on February 20, 1928 in the Town of Saxeville, WI to William and Viola Anderson and married Arlene Roberts on June 24, 1950. James proudly served in the US Navy for two years after WWII. He worked for 35 years, mostly as a storeroom clerk. James was a hardworking man who enjoyed spending time outdoors and at the Hodag festival. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, especially big pumpkins, and remodeling and working on the house. James was always full of humor. Neighbors and friends would see him driving around town on his tractor. His favorite times were driving down back roads, and country music on the radio. After retiring, James and wife Arlene spent most winters in Ruskin, FL with their snow bird friends. James is known for wearing suspenders and always having a smile on his face.

James is survived by wife, Arlene Anderson (Roberts) of Wild Rose, WI; children: William Anderson and wife Mary of Appleton, WI; Maurice Anderson of Menasha, WI; LaVonne Schneidewend and husband Jeff of Hortonville, WI; Richard Anderson and wife Linda of Menasha, WI, and Brenda Riehl of Wisconsin Dells, WI; sisters: Hattie Snell and husband Maurice, Lila Dorn and husband Lyle, and Elizabeth Schultin and husband Ray; 16 loving grandchildren, as well as many great-grandchildren, family and friends. James is preceded in death by father William, mother Viola, sister Dorothy Kusmierczyk, son James Anderson and brother Richard Anderson.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday April 26, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Saxeville. Pastor Rick Engen will officiate with burial to follow at the Saxeville Union Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10 – 11 a.m. at the church. The Holly Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
