He was born on January 9, 1923, Markesan, son of the late Irwin and Anna (Draheim) Jahns. On June 18, 1944, he was united in marriage to Gladys McDougal, at Buffalo Presbyterian Church, south of Montello; she preceded him in death in 1998. He served his country in the US Army, WWII from 1946-1947. Rollie owned and operated Rollies Full Service Gas Station in New London from 1973-1998, the last nine years under the guiding hand of his daughter Sheryl. For the last 12 years after retirement Rollie enjoyed spending winters in Mesa, Arizona.
He is survived by his daughters, Dianne (Larry) Dahl, Ogema; Sheryl Spencer, New London; Valerie Jahns, Oshkosh; sons, Rolland Jahns Jr., Great Bend, Kansas, and Kent (Charlie) Jahns, Kingston, Wisconsin; three brothers, Dennis Jahns, Michigan; Irwin (Georgia) Jahns, and Donald (Kathy) Jahns, both of Florida. He is further survived by 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 54 years, Gladys, and his second wife, Pearl.

Funeral services for Rollie will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London with Rev. William Heiges officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery. Military Rites will be held.
