T-Birds defeat Chargers

The Iola-Scandinavia girls’ softball team defeated the Wittenberg-Birnamwood Chargers 13-2, in five innings Monday, May 2.

The T-Birds got their bats moving early in the home game, putting 11 points on the board in the first inning.

Kaylin Ellioff led the way with a hit her first time up to bat, followed by a three-run home run later in the inning.

I-S added 2 more points in the bottom of the 2nd giving them a 13-0 lead in the game.

The Chargers were finally able to get on the board in the 3rd inning, when Kendra Stolz base hit brought in a run.

The Chargers were able to score one more time in the top of the fifth, leaving the score to 13-2.

I-S improves their record to 4-4, while W-B drops to 0-8.

The T-Birds will be back in action on Thursday, May 5 when they host the Manawa Wolves and again on Friday, May 6, when they take on Weyauwega-Fremont.
