Albert was born on April 3, 1935, in Rosholt, WI, the youngest of the five children of G. Oliver Dobbe and Mabel (Anderson) Dobbe. After graduating from Rosholt High School, Albert enlisted in the U.S. Army on November 18, 1954. He was honorably discharged on November 15, 1957 and returned to Rosholt, working in construction until accepting employment at the Wisconsin Veterans Home where he worked until his retirement. Albert was an accomplished woodworker, completing many fine furniture and cabinet projects as well as building two houses. He took great pride in his Norwegian ancestry and loved making lefse and knowing his family history. In his retirement years, one of his great joys was to help with the carpentry work in the restoration of the Old Norwegian church, South New Hope Church in New Hope, WI, of which his ancestors were founding members. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent many years backpacking, biking and traveling. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a man of strong faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a kind, thoughtful and loving man and a blessing to all his family and a true gift from God to his wife. On June 28, 2008, Albert married Caryl Gullikson in Onalaska, WI. They spent spring, summer and fall in Wisconsin and winters in Florida.
Albert is survived by his wife, Caryl; two step-children, Krista (Eric) Engholdt of Onalaska, WI and Kevin (Heather) Eide of Milwaukee, WI; eight step-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his four siblings; his brother, Earl (Irene) Dobbe of Waupaca, and three sisters, Harriot Dobbe Young of Florida, Marion (George) Paris of California, Ruby (Clifford) Forseth of Waupaca and a nephew, Andy Young of Florida.
