Iola course to host D3 sectional

The road to state for area boys’ golf teams begins Tuesday and Wednesday, May 24-25, with regional competitions in three divisions.
New London and Hortonville will compete in Division 1; Waupaca and Clintonville in Division 2; and Iola-Scandinavia, Weyauwega-Fremont and Manawa in Division 3.
New London and Hortonville will join Appleton East, Appleton North, Appleton West, Menasha, Neenah and Wisconsin Rapids at the Neenah Regional, set for 9 a.m. May 24, at Neenah’s Ridgeway Country Club.
Teams and individuals that qualify for sectional play will then head to the Ashwaubenon Sectional, set for 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, at Brown County Golf Club in Oneida.
Waupaca will compete with Berlin, Fox Valley Lutheran, Laconia, Little Chute, Omro, Ripon, Wautoma/Wild Rose, Winneconne and Xavier May 25 at the Xavier Regional at Shamrock Heights Golf Course in New London.
Clintonville will join Bonduel, Marinette, Menominee Indian/Gresham, Mosinee, Oconto, Oconto Falls, Peshtigo, Shawano and Wittenberg-Birnamwood at the Marinette Regional May 24 at Little River Country Club, Marinette.
Golfers at both regionals will tee off at 9 a.m. and sectional qualifiers will advance to the Seymour Sectional, set for 9 a.m. May 31 at Crystal Springs Golf Course, Seymour.
Iola-Scandinavia, Weyauwega-Fremont and Manawa will join Amherst, Assumption, Lourdes Academy/Valley Christian, Newman Catholic, Pacelli and St. Mary Catholic at 10 a.m. May 24 at The Ridges Golf Course, Wisconsin Rapids.
Sectional qualifiers will then head to the Amherst Sectional, which will be held at 9 a.m. May 31 at Glacier Wood Golf Club, Iola.
The WIAA state meet will be held Monday and Tuesday, June 6-7, at University Ridge Golf Course, Verona.
