Katie - ObitKathryn (Katie) L. Bruehl, age 63, of New London, WI, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2016 at St. Joseph Residence in New London, WI after a courageous eight year battle with cancer.

She was born August 26, 1952, beloved daughter of Donald and Donna Main. She married Karl Bruehl on July 19, 1986 in New London. Katie’s passion was her God, her family, her flower beds, knitting and crocheting. She loved making items and donating them to charitable organizations.

Katie is survived by her husband, Karl; mother, Donna Main, Appleton, WI., stepsons: George (Sara) Bruehl, Stillwater, MN; Robert Bruehl Symco, WI; brother, Don (Cheryl) Main, Morris, MN; sisters, Julie (Gerry) Bestul, New London, WI; Chris (Ed) Alexander, New London, WI; sister-in-law, Cheryl (Richard) Stauder, Warren, MI; brother-in-law, Michael Bruehl, Manitowoc, WI; her special niece, Angela (Chuck) Reetz, New London and Amanda (Steve) Gardynik, Ohio. She is also the great-aunt of Ethan and Mira Reetz. Step-granddaughters are Lauren and Caroline Bruehl;step-grandsons, Grant Bruehl and Nick Bruehl. She is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Main; her sister, Amy Main and her nephew, Justin Main and also her grandparents.

Katie was an inspiration to all who knew her and she will be missed by all.

Special thanks to Pastor Heiges, Doctors Bar-Lev and Conkrite and the wonderful nurses from Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology, especially Amy and the other chemo nurses. You were wonderful to her and she loved you. Many thanks to Greg and Heartland Hospice, we couldn’t have done it without you. Also heartfelt thanks to the wonderful nurses at St. Joseph Residence in New London, especially Ally who went the extra mile to comfort Katie and myself near the end.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 E. Quincy St., New London. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until the time of services.The Cline-Hanson Funeral Home in New London is serving the family.

Internment will be held at a later date.
