LaVan L. Radichel, age 64, of West Bloomfield, died on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Appleton Medical Center.
He was born on May 7, 1952 in New London, WI, the son of Arthur and Linda (Behm) Radichel. LaVan was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield, where he served as an elder, trustee and head usher. He was employed at Timm’s Sawmill for 39 years and also farmed in Bloomfield for 39 years. LaVan enjoyed hunting, fishing, picking out hickory nuts, and gardening.
LaVan is survived by his mother, Linda; a sister, Marlys (Delwyn) Brey, Poy Sippi; a sister-in-law, Ann Radichel, West Bloomfield; two aunts, Alice Niemuth and Lynette Hannemann; nieces and nephews: Greg (Nicole) Brey, Dawn (Jack) Groves, Barbara Radichel, Jill (Jason) Maggio and Laura DeBord, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur; and a brother, Roger.
Funeral services were held on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, N6412 State Rd. 49, Weyauwega. Rev. John Taggatz officiated. Burial is in Concordia Cemetery. Visitation was held on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the Lewin Funeral Home, and on Friday, at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established for Christ Lutheran Church.
