Man charged with sex crimes

Two teens have accused a man of sexually assaulting them while they were drunk.

Bodhi W. Gust, 20, Larsen, is charged with sexual assault of a child and second-degree sexual assault.

On Christmas Eve in 2015, an 18-year-old woman told New London police Gust sexually assaulted her.

According to the criminal complaint, she had been drinking, became intoxicated, then fell asleep on the couch.

She woke up some time between 2:30 a.m. and 3 a.m. and discovered Gust lying on top of her. The woman said both she and Gust were naked from the waist down. She had been wearing jeans when she fell asleep.

The woman told police she began yelling at Gust to get off of her. He then put on his pants and left, the complaint says.

The woman later experienced soreness and bleeding. A medical exam found forced penetration.

In November 2015, a Dayton man told Waupaca County Deputy Jon Loken that he had looked at the Facebook page of his 15-year-old step-daughter and discovered messages that indicated Gust took advantage of her while she was drunk.

Detective Sgt. Julie Thobaben interviewed the girl on Nov. 12, 2015. The girl said she had gone to a party in Scandinavia and had too much vodka to drink. She went to the bathroom to throw up, then staggered to a bed.

She told Thobaben she did not remember much, but she recalled Gust lying in the bed next to her, kissing and cuddling her. She woke up wearing Gust’s sweatshirt, the complaint says.

That morning, other people at the party told the girl they had seen her and Gust having sex through the partially open bedroom door.

A witness told Thobaben that Bodhi had said he had sex with the girl.

In March 2015, Gust was convicted of two counts of criminal damage to property and one count of theft. Two felony counts of burglary and two counts of taking a vehicle without the owner’s permission were dismissed but read into the record.

On Oct. 26, 2015, Gust was charged with burglary and theft. That case still remains open.
