Kris Leonhardt will present “In the Spotlight: Waupaca’s Theaters and the Adler Family” at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 14, at the Holly History and Genealogy Center.

Leonhardt will focus on J.P. Adler and his family, who at one time owned three theaters in downtown Waupaca.

The Adler family eventually opened the Rosa Theater on Main Street, which still operates today, and built one of the largest independently-owned theater chains in Wisconsin.

Popcorn and refreshments will be served.

Leonhardt will sign her book, “Showstopper — The Adler Family and the Dawn of the Movie Industry” following her presentation. Books will be for sale as well.

The program is free and presented by the Waupaca Historical Society.

The Holly Center is located at 321 S. Main St., in Waupaca.
