Traffic
• July 2 – A woman was severely injured in an ATV accident at about 11 p.m. in the town of Lebanon.

Tamara Olk, 43, of Manawa, was operating a Bombardier ATV eastbound on Nicolai Road near Garrity Road when she lost control of the vehicle on the roadway.

The ATV entered the south ditch, throwing the rider off and into the ditch.

Olk was transported to the hospital with possible injuries.

According to the police report, the operator’s condition was listed as impaired and alcohol was present.

• June 29 – A teenager was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 6:30 p.m. in the town of Lind.

Lana Sommer, 16, of Waupaca, was driving westbound on Crystal Road when she failed to stop for a stop sign. Sommer’s vehicle crossed County Trunk E in front of a vehicle driven by Patrick Tankersley, 36, of Waupaca.

Tankersley applied the brakes and attempted evasive maneuvers, but the front end of the Sommer vehicle struck his vehicle’s rear passenger quarter panel.

After the collision, the Sommer vehicle slid into the gravel shoulder at the southwest corner of the intersection before stopping facing southwest.

The Tankersley vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch line at the northwest corner of the intersection. The vehicle then entered an adjacent farm field where it rolled three times before coming to rest on its wheels facing south.

Sommer was transported the hospital for possible neck injury and a bloody nose.
