State Street to be closed

Crews will be treating the surface of North and South State Streets in Waupaca.

North State Street between the Badger/School Street intersection and Mill Street will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 26.

South State Street between the Badger/School Street intersection and Lake Street will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 27.

The intersection of State, Badger and School streets will remain open during the project.

The work will be done by the Waupaca County Highway Department and the city of Waupaca.

The pavement treatment is designed to prolong the life of the road’s surface. This is not an asphalt pavement resurfacing but a wet coating application that quickly dries.

In preparation for the project, State Street will be swept on Monday, July 25. There will be no closures that day.

If weather or unforeseen emergencies delay this project, they will be completed the next day.

Emergency agencies have been informed of this road closure. If an emergency does occur, emergency personal and equipment will be able to pass.
