Vintage tractor show set this weekend

The 49th annual Union Thresheree & National Antique Tractor Pull will be held Friday through Sunday, July 29-31 at the Union Thresheree Grounds in Symco.

This year’s event features Ford and Fordson tractors and equipment, with Doodle Bugs and Sandwich Gas Engines.

Ongoing activities include grain thrashing, log sawing, rock crushing, corn shelling and plowing, plus various children’s activities.

Unionville will be open for the public to visit the various historical buildings, such as the blacksmith shop, feed mill, saloon, fire station and general store.

The schedule includes: Friday – Garden tractor plowing 1 p.m.; Bourbon Cowboys Band 8 p.m.-midnight; Saturday – Kids Pedal Pull 9:30 a.m.; National Antique Tractor Pull 11 a.m.; garden tractor plowing 1 p.m.; Chasin’ Mason Band 8 p.m.-midnight; Adult Pedal Pull 9 p.m.; Sunday – Parade 11:30 a.m.; garden tractor plowing 1 p.m.; Antique Power Chain Saw Contest 3 p.m.

Admission is $5 for adults, and free for children age 12 and under.
