Project to be completed in September

By Bert Lehman

The Maize Street reconstruction project is currently underway, but it will not be finished until September.

David Tichinel, water and wastewater manager for the city of Clintonville told the city of Clintonville Utility Board at its Aug. 8 meeting that the project was moving along fine, but it won’t be completed until the first or second week of September.

He said the delay was due to the crew not starting the project when originally planned.

“They started too late but this crew is outstanding to work with so far,” Tichinel said.

Tichinel said the required work at the intersection of Maize Street and East Madison Street is mostly completed.

Five tie-ins were completed on Monday to provide residents with temporary water, Tichinel said.

“From Paulina Street to the south is dead right now,” he said. “It’s offline. The water has been disconnected.”

He added that the advantage of taking the water lines offline when work is being done is work can be completed quicker.
