Carole was born in Wausau on August 21, 1939 to the late Mary Ann and Arthur Bluhm. She graduated from Wausau Lutheran Schools, and from Fox Valley Technical School in Appleton with a degree in computer science. She married Alan Pontius February 1987. The coupled enjoyed 29 years of marriage and the company of their combined families and friends. Carole retired from Kimberly-Clark in 1997, later moving to Arizona and then to Las Vegas. They traveled extensively, including with the Neenah Community Band trips to Europe, and a travel club trip to China. Carole also enjoyed quilting, and playing Mahjongg and bunko with friends and neighbors in Las Vegas. She was a member of MENSA.
Carole is survived by her husband, Alan; her sons, Ernie Tessmer (Linda) of Wausau, Arthur Tessmer (Barb) of Clintonville; her daughter, Debbie Franke of Weston; her step-son, Bob Pontius (Nancy) of Appleton, and her step-daughter, Ann Pontius of Plainfield, VT. She is also survived by her brother, Bernard Bluhm (Diane) of Waterford, WI as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, her son David Tessmer of Appleton and her step-son Jim Pontius (Debra) of Oshkosh.
Private services will be held at a later date with interment in Appleton.
