W-F wins at home

The Weyauwega-Fremont Indians took on the Brillion Lions Friday in Weyauwega.

In the second quarter Brandon Scheer scored three times for the Indians and Gavin Curtis kicked the extra points, giving them a 21-6 advantage.

Weyauwega-Fremont’s Logan Bosquez added two touchdowns in the third quarter.

Tanner Schlender was able to get on the board for Brillion, with Benjamin Kasten scoring the extra two points to end the third with a score of 35-14.

Schlender and Kasten combined again for another scoring drive in the fourth quarter for the Lions, bringing the score to 35-22.

Weyauwega-Fremont moved the ball up the field on their next possession, getting into scoring position once again. Then the ball was fumbled, allowing the Lions to take over on their 13-yard line.

Brillion quarterback Brady Eichmeier’s pass was intercepted by Weyauwega-Fremont’s Alex Bartel, who ran the ball in for a touchdown.

Curtis kicked the extra point to close out the scoring, giving W-F a 42-22 victory.

Weyauwega-Fremont will be back in action at 7 p.m Friday, Sept. 2 when they host the Bonduel Bears.
