Ione was born in Boyceville, WI on October 5, 1925, the daughter of the late Clare and Vivien (Welch) Throne. Her family moved to Fremont and began attending Parfreyville Methodist Church. Together they did Prison Ministry at Oxford, WI. They became Snowbirds in Mission, TX. where they loved square-dancing, rock hounding, playing shuffleboard and various card games. She always put her family first, and nothing made her happier than when her entire family gathered together.
