Dave Jueds is the new athletic director for the Iola-Scandinavia School District.

He’s also the district’s new technology education teacher.

“I enjoy athletics and they have been a large part of my life,” Jueds said. “The athletic director position gives me the opportunity to become involved the community and helping the athletes anyway that I can.”

Jueds brings 13 years of teaching experience in several different subject areas.

“I started my teaching career teaching middle school math, science, social studies and language in Clintonville,” he said. “I accepted a middle school math position in Tigerton in 2004. I was given an opportunity to obtain my technology education teaching license while at Tigerton. I have since completed that degree and have been teaching tech ed for the last six years.”

During his time in Tigerton, Jueds was the head football and assistant baseball coach and also coached in the middle school boys’ basketball program.

“I took over the AD position in Tigerton in 2015 after their longtime athletic director, Glenda Smith, retired,” he said. “I have always enjoyed sports, playing baseball collegiately as well as coaching football, basketball and baseball.”

Ready for a new challenge, Jueds made the decision to move to the Iola-Scandinavia School District.

“Iola has always been a well-respected school district,” he said. “I look forward to meeting new people and becoming involved in the Iola-Scandinavia communities.”

In his spare time, Jueds is busy with his four children, Kaden, Brylee, Braelyn and Jordy.

“I enjoy staying active and involved in the many activities my kids are involved in,” he said. “I can typically be found at a ballpark in the summer time.”
