Iola-Scandy pummels Wega-Fremont

The Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds won their Oct. 14 homecoming game against the Weyauwega-Fremont Indians by a decisive 31-7 score.
The T-Birds took an early lead in the game when Jalen Block scored twice in the first quarter.
Block’s first touchdown came on a 24-yard run. Later, he scored on a pass from I-S quarterback Jayden Sivertson.
With Kyle Jobke kicking the extra points, the T-Birds were up 14-0 at the end of the first quarter.
The only scoring in the second quarter came when Jobke kicked a field goal for Iola-Scandinavia widening the gap to 17-0.
Weyauwega-Fremont struggled to move the ball in the third quarter. The Indians never got past mid-field before they had to kick the ball away.
Sivertson had the hot hands for Iola-Scandinavia during the third quarter, scoring twice for the T-Birds. I-S ended the quarter with a 31-0 advantage.
The Indians put their first score on the board late in the fourth quarter when Logan Bosquez connected with Trevor Flease for a touchdown. Bosquez kicked the extra point to close out the scoring, giving the T-Birds a 31-7 victory.
This concludes the 2016 season for Weyauwega-Fremont who ends with a 2-4 conference record.
Iola-Scandinavia will move into post season play with a 5-1 conference record.
