Ada M. Sampson, Waupaca, Wisconsin, age 98, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at ThedaCare Medical Center in New London, WI.
She was born October 1, 1918 in Spring Valley, WI, daughter of John and Margaret (Traynor) Brookshaw. On February 23, 1942, Ada married Allen H. Sampson in St. Paul, MN and together they shared 70 years of marriage before his passing on November 25, 2012. She loved to go gambling, taking bus trips to different casinos. Ada was a wonderful baker and cook and was known in her family for her amazing pork roast. She loved her family and will be missed.
Ada is survived by: daughters, Judith (LaVern) Underwood of Bethlehem, PA; Vicki Jameson of Ottawa, IL; grandchildren: Scott (Janet) Underwood of West Olive, MI; Jennifer (Ron) Ward of Marseilles, IL; Rachel (Micah) Hadley of Ottawa, IL; great-granddaughters: Amanda (Corey) Gallt, Amber Underwood, Ashley Underwood, Alyssa Underwood, Megan Ward, Kelsey Ward, and Macey Hadley; and great-great-grandchildren: Avery, Cambrie, Piper, and Everett. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Brookshaw; her husband, Allen Sampson; one sister; and three brothers.
A Funeral Service was held on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca, WI. Reverend Dione Miller officiated. A visitation was held on Monday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial took place at the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King following the service on Monday. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
