Schimke part of historic achievement
Fiona Schimke of New London, who is studying music, was part of the 2016-17 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater drum line that was recently endorsed by Yamaha.
Yamaha, the world’s largest manufacturer of musical instruments, specifically known for brass and percussion, honored the UW-Whitewater drum line with a level of excellence this fall.
UW-Whitewater is the first Wisconsin school to receive such an endorsement.
“This endorsement speaks volumes about the students’ work like all areas on campus that achieve success,” said Glenn Hayes, director of bands at UW-Whitewater.
