Driver charged with felony OWI

A Wisconsin Rapids man was arrested for drunken driving before 7 a.m. in Waupaca.

Joshua L. Jackson, 28, is charged with a fourth offense of operating while intoxicated and with operating while revoked.

At 6:42 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, Waupaca County Deputy Pete Bosquez was notified of several reports of an erratic driver in a black vehicle with its hazard lights activated going westbound on U.S. Highway 10.

At 6:56 a.m., Bosquez located the vehicle traveling eastbound on Fulton Street in Waupaca. He made a traffic stop after it turned south onto Western Avenue.

Bosquez reported that he noticed the aroma of marijuana and that the driver had slurred speech, glassy eyes and failed to successfully complete the field sobriety tests.

A preliminary breath test indicated Jackson had a .225 blood-alcohol content.

Jackson was previously convicted of OWI in August 2010, June 2012 and January 2014. His license was revoked in January 2014 and not reinstated, according to the criminal complaint.
