Sewer plant construction begins

Clintonville project to take one year

By Erik Buchinger

Construction for the city of Clintonville Wastewater Management Plant began on Monday, Dec. 5.

Water/Wastewater Manager Dave Tichinel said the plant was due for an upgrade.

“It’s been since 1988, so almost 30 years since any upgrades have been done,” Tichinel said. “There’s some new rules that came out with the DNR that we’re trying to get a jump on. With the upgrade, we’re trying to comply and meet those requirements as well.”

Though the construction has begun just recently, Tichinel said it has been a long process of planning.

“This has been an ongoing process for a while,” Tichinel said. “There’s been a lot of paperwork, a lot of time invested with the drawings, so it’s probably been a good year since we started on putting everything together.”

Tichinel said the projected date of completion is December 2017.

“I’m glad we can show the community that we’re using their money wisely,” Tichinel said. “It’s going to upgrades to keep us up to date on the new DNR requirements with what we have to do.”
