He was born March 16, 1951 in Waupaca, WI, son of Theodore and Alta (Hanke) Johnson. On June 25, 1988, LeRoy married Jean Moericke at Bethany Evangelical Free Church in Clintonville, WI. He retired after 45 years of working as a machinist and stockroom technician for the Waupaca Foundry. LeRoy enjoyed playing softball, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, woodworking, and helping out family and friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and will be dearly missed.
LeRoy is survived by his loving wife, Jean Johnson of Ogdensburg; four children: Bradley (Jennifer) Johnson of Amherst, Elizabeth “Betsy” (Adam) Wiebe of West Bend, Heather (Mark) Tiseling of Winneconne, and Benjamin Johnson of Scandinavia; fifteen grandchildren: Anastasia “Annie”, Ian, Tyler, Emily, and Bryce Johnson, Jenna and Joshua Jansky, Brady Johnson, Eli Seybold, Autumn, Brandon, and Noah Tiseling, Malik Beaumont, Jessie Johnson, and Benjamin “Travis” Johnson; three brothers, Warren Johnson of Weyauwega, Theodore Johnson of Almond, and Donald (Judy) Johnson of Glen Flora; and three sisters, Kay Goetsch of St. Louis, MO; Joan West of Appleton, and Donna (Steve) Lumsden of Cedar Park, TX. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Alta Johnson; a daughter, Anastasia “Stacy” Johnson (infancy); a granddaughter, Taylor Jansky; a brother, Ronald Johnson; and a niece, Rosalee Holbrook.
A Funeral Service will be today, Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Evangelical Free Church in Clintonville, WI with full military honors to follow. Pastor Kurt Hettinga will officiate. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the spring at Riverside Cemetery in Iola. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
