More than 100 people took the plunge – literally – to raise funds for the Waupaca Fire Department.
Becker Marine and The Wheelhouse teamed up again to host the Waupaca Polar Bear Plunge Jan. 1.
Participants ran in and out of Lime Kiln Lake and a few returned to the water a second or third time.
The weather wasn’t a problem, as the sun came out and temperatures hovered in the upper 20s.
More than 100 people rang in 2017 in a chilly way Jan. 1 at the annual Polar Plunge on Lime Kiln Lake near Waupaca. Hundreds more turned out to watch the Plunge, a fundraiser for the Waupaca Fire Department.
