Winkelman, Lucille

Lucille M. Winkelman, age 90, of New London, died on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Living Tree Estates in Greenville.

She was born on July 7, 1926, in the Town of Dale, the daughter of the late Herbert and Edna (Magadanz) Drews. Lucille was baptized into Christ on July 18, 1926. She made her solemn vow of Confirmation on May 12, 1940. On August 23, 1952, Lucille married Arthur Winkelman at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dale. Together they farmed in the Town of Winchester for many years. Art preceded her in death on November 13, 1990. Lucille was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dale, where she served on the Ladies Aid and was their former treasurer. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, crocheting, and playing cards.

Lucille is survived by two daughters, Donna (Robert) Mulroy, Greenville; and Carol (Dave) Magolski, New London; five grandchildren: Rebecca (Romero) Coleman, Green Bay; Brian (Bethany) Mulroy, Greenville, SC; Jill (Jed) Crawford, Greenville; Jennifer (Dan) Heise, New London; and James (Emily) Magolski, New London; six great-grandchildren: Corey and Rihanna Coleman, Parker and Kylie Heise, Cora Zorn, and June Lucille Crawford, and another great-grandchild due in May; a sister-in-law, Gladys Stelzner, Oshkosh; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, John Stelzner.

Funeral services were held on Friday, December 30 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, N926 Dale Ave., Dale. Rev. William Finn officiated. Burial is in Dale Union Cemetery. Visitation was held on Friday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established for St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Lucille’s family would like to extend a very special thank you to Pastor Finn and Billy for their many visits and devotions; to Gabriel’s Villa in Oshkosh and Living Tree Estates in Greenville for the wonderful care provided to mom during her stay there; and to Compassus Hospice for the care and compassion shown to mom during her last week.
