Betty A. Mattingly, age 83, of Waupaca, WI, formerly of Huntley, IL passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Park Vista.
Betty was born in Harmony, IL on April 6, 1933, the daughter of the late William and Meta (Bauer) Tessmer. On October 24, 1953, Betty married James N. Mattingly at the First Congregational Church in Huntley and he preceded her in death on July 3, 1992. She worked for many years at Union Special Sewing Machine Co. and was a member at the First Congregational Church in Huntley. Betty loved doing crossword puzzles, pinochle, bowling and especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Paul (Cindy) Mattingly, Waupaca; her grandchildren: Amy (Jacob) Wagner, Sun Prairie and Teresa (Brian) Bentler, Cottage Grove; her great-grandchildren: Adelyn, Karah and Nathan Bentler and Zachary Wagner. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and their families. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a granddaughter, Sara Beth Mattingly; her brother, Donald (Bobbie) Tessmer; two sisters, Dorothy (Joseph) Schaller and Delores (John) DeWert and nephews, Don Schaller and Raymond DeWert.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date in Huntley, IL. Burial will be next to her husband in the Huntley Cemetery. Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
