Entry registration underway

Artists may register for the 54th Waupaca Art Show.

The show is Sunday, April 30 through Friday, May 5, at the Waupaca Expo Center.

There are two registrations – one for high school artists and the other for nonprofessional and professional artists.

The registration period began on Feb. 6 and ends on April 15.

There is one set registration fee, with all entry fees due on April 15.

The registration fee for high school students is $5 per piece.

For every two pieces of artwork, the third is free for students.

The registration fee for nonprofessional artists is $10 per piece, and the registration fee for professional artists is $15 per piece.

Registrations are not being accepted on the art drop-off dates.

In addition, the changing of art pieces may only be done via email, not on the art drop-off dates.

This year’s art drop-off dates are 2-6 p.m. Friday, April 28 and 8-11 a.m. Saturday, April 29.

As in past years, a sneak preview/meet the artists event is being held.

It is from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, April 29. The public is welcome.

The art show hours are 1-6 p.m. Sunday, April 30; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, May 1 through Thursday, May 4; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, May 5.

The judge’s critique is from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 30.

In the high school category, the awards are $35 for first place, $20 for second place and $10 for third place.

The awards are $70 for first place, $50 for second place and $40 for third place in the nonprofessional artist category.

In the professional artist category, the awards are $150 for first place, $80 for second place and $60 for third place.

The Most Popular Show photograph, 2D and 3D pieces are awarded $50, and the Waupaca Foundry Purchase Award is $400.

Artists may pick up their artwork from 3-6 p.m. Friday, May 5 and from 8-11 a.m. Saturday, May 6.
