King’s Table wins two categories in survey
The best margarita and Mexican food in Waupaca is at King’s Table. The restaurant was voted Best of Waupaca for both categories.
“We appreciate our patrons for voting us Best of Waupaca for margaritas and Mexican food,” said owner Bill Johnson.
He said the secret is using authentic recipes.
“Micaela Parra is the one who does a lot of the recipes for our Mexican food,” he said. “So it is pretty authentic.”
He recalled that one day Parra said she wanted to make some burritos.
“She brought it in and we liked it, so we started offering burritos,” Johnson said. “The Mexican menu expanded from there.”
With specialty recipes developed and perfected by Parra, the King’s Table menu includes fajitas, enchiladas, nachos, tacos, taco salad, burritos and chimichangas. Parra uses a traditional enchilada sauce, which she refers to as Mexican gravy.
“We just follow her lead,” Johnson said. “The Mexican fare has been very popular for the past 26 years.”
Johnson has owned and managed King’s Table for 38 years. His three daughters – Lisa, Kerry and Barbara – also work at the restaurant.
The King’s Table Restaurant is located at N2717 County Trunk QQ, in downtown King. For more information, call 715-258-9150.
