Valerie was born in Appleton, WI on March 19, 1938, the daughter of the late John and Adelle (Cumber) Melzer. She worked for many years at Waupaca Clinic in the Medical Records Dept. On February 11, 1961, Val married Richard Kranzusch in Appleton and he preceded her in death on August 31, 2014. She loved gardening, reading, watching the Brewers and NASCAR. Val is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her daughters: Bonnie (Dan) Kranzusch-Dahlke, Inver Grove Heights, MN and Cheryl (Mark) Taber, Waupaca; her grandchildren: Alicia (Nathan) Watts, Andrew Peterson and Stephen Dahlke; her great-grandchildren: Brandon, Tyler and Kenny Watts; her brothers: John (Eunice) Melzer, Georgia; Keith (Beverly) Melzer, Appleton and her sister-in-law, Patricia Melzer, Appleton. Valerie is also survived by many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dick, a great-granddaughter, Rosalie Ann Watts and her brother, Leroy Melzer.
The Funeral Service will be on Friday, May 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waupaca with Reverend Dione Miller, officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and also on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. The Holly Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
