Ham radio event tests skills
The Waupaca County Amateur Radio Services (ARES) group for their annual amateur radio Field Day from noon Saturday to noon Sunday, June 24-25, at South Park in Waupaca.
Taking place annually on the fourth weekend of June, Field Day is the largest ham radio event in the United States and Canada.
The event brings together ham radio operators, friends and those who have an interest in ham radio. It is open to the public.
Waupaca County ARES will attempt to contact as many other amateur radio stations as they can.
They will also work on their emergency response skills, preparedness and service to the community.
