Nabbefeld, V. Lorena “Lori”

V. Lorena “Lori” Nabbefeld, age 95, of Waupaca, WI passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Matthews of Neenah.

She was born June 30, 1921 in Elcho, WI, daughter of Lewis and Olga (Olson) Kolden. Lori graduated from Amherst High School and Hollywood Beauty School in Appleton. She married Harlan Anderson in 1939 in Nelsonville and they had a son together, Darrell, and they both preceded her in death. Lori then went to Miami, FL where she owned and operated her own beauty salon. She married John Rumpf in 1955 and he preceded her in death in February 1973. After 21 years in Florida, she returned to Wisconsin and made Waupaca her home. She worked at Vernae’s Beauty Salon until her retirement. On April 16, 1977, Lori married Theodore “Ted” Nabbefeld in Waupaca. They enjoyed remodeling and building on their home and they had a loving relationship throughout their marriage. They shared 26 years of marriage before his passing on February 6, 2004. Lori enjoyed gardening, crocheting, craft work, leather work, and painting. She loved her cats and liked to watch the birds and squirrels in her yard at home. Lori was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca and her faith was very important to her. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.

Lori is survived by her six step-children, Teddy (Dean) Bann of Neenah, Becky (Randy) Vande Voort of Appleton, Jack Nabbefeld of Appleton, Joe (Rita) Nabbefeld of Appleton, Jim (Laurie) Nabbefeld of Appleton, and Emmy (Steve) Gossens of Greenville; twelve step-grandchildren, 14 step-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Karen (Bob) Burr of Neenah and a brother-in-law, Tom (Lindell) Nabbefeld of Appleton. She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Kolden; her mother and step-father, Olga and Arnold Anderson; her husbands, John Rumpf and Ted Nabbefeld; a son, Darrell Anderson; and a half-brother, Alan Buslett.

A Funeral Service will be on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. Reverend Bryan Robertson will officiate. A visitation will be held on Thursday morning from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Park in Waupaca following the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.

A special thank-you to the caregivers at Matthews of Neenah for all of their help and support to our family over the past year. The special care Lori received will never be forgotten.
