Woman charged with forgery

Parents say she stole a check

Lydia A. Much, 22, New London, is charged in Waupaca County with forgery uttering.

She was released from custody on a $2,000 signature bond.

According to the criminal complaint, Much’s mother told New London police that Much stole a check that was already written and signed for $460.

The check was taken from the mother’s check book and the name of its intended recipient printed on the back with the text, “Pay to the order of Lydia Much.” The check was processed on June 17.

Much allegedly admitted to her mother via Facebook messages that she entered her parents’ home and took the check because “she was told to and had a gun pointed to her head,” the complaint says.

Much reportedly told police that she entered her parents’ home around 3 a.m. while they were sleeping, took the check and deposited it into her bank account.

She currently resides in Shawano County jail where a $2,500 cash bond was set as a condition of her release after she was charged with forgery uttering and theft there.
