He was born, Jan. 21, 1989, in Waupaca, WI, son of Roy and Peggy Kaminske. He worked as a cook at the Wisconsin Veterans Home, and was a volunteer there as a young boy. Joshua was a bright, witty and adventurous spirit who loved listening to music and spending time in nature hiking, biking, kayaking and fishing. He was an exceptional student who maintained a 4.0 GPA for most of his academic career. Josh was also a gifted musician who mastered multiple instruments including the piano, guitar, and trombone. He performed with his trombone in many groups consisting of fellow professionals including playing with the Lawrence University Honors Band.
Josh is survived by his mother and step-father, Peggy and Charles Kane, Waupaca, WI; his brother, Daniel Kaminske, Boise, ID; two sisters, Jessica Kaminske, Waupaca, WI and Tamara Buckholtz (Ben Gordon), Waupaca, WI; two nieces, Breanna and Emerie Buckholtz and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Roy M. Kaminske.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and again on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Father Amalraj Roche will officiate with burial to follow at the St. Mary’s Magdalene Catholic Cemetery.
