‘Wow Paca’ planned outdoors

Event to discuss city parks

City of Waupaca residents are invited to attend a Thursday, Oct. 12 community event on the front lawn of city hall about the city’s downtown parks.

Called “Wow Paca,” it will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and will include a brief presentation at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

Ideas from Rasmussen Park to Rotary Riverview Park, Hidden Park and then Serenity Park will be presented for input.

Materials will be posted on the city’s website after the meeting.

Last year, the city completed a downtown plan focused on reinvigorating the community.

The city appreciates the many residents who participated in that year-long planning effort.

That plan identified the Waupaca River as a significantly underused asset primed for recreation, improved economic conditions and overall community attractiveness.

This year, efforts are underway to help improve the community’s connection to the river.

If the weather is inclement, the Oct. 12 open house will be moved indoors to city hall.
