Margaret was born on December 5, 1920 the daughter of the late Herman and Bernice (Wochnesk) Hippler in Watertown, WI. She grew up during the Great Depression. She graduated Washington High School in New London in 1938. After graduation, Margaret lived with the Bowlby family and started babysitting the girls. She was a Spam Girl in 1940. Margaret was a lifetime Catholic, her religion was very important to her. She loved swimming and was thrilled to be with Illa and Bumps Bowlby, as in early years they always rented a cottage on the Chain of Lakes in Waupaca until they built a home on the Chain and moved the Candy Company from Appleton to Waupaca in 1967. Margaret worked for Bowlby Candy Company from 1938 until retirement in 1994 as the Vice President.
Margaret is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her five sisters; Dorothy, Beatrice, Lucille, Marianne and Helen.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 25 th at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Father Amalraj Roche will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at church. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
