No charge to remove brush pile

City saves several thousand dollars

By Bert Lehman

There will be no cost to the city to get rid of the brush pile outside the Clintonville Area Waste Services site.

Public Works Director Kray Brown informed the Clintonville Streets Committee at its Nov. 7 meeting.

Brown said the contractor who had ground the material at no cost a couple of years ago is once again grinding the material and hauling it from the site.

“They came in [the first week of November] and they ground it up for nothing,” Brown said. “And they’re taking all the chips away.”

He said that he had originally added funds to the budget to cover the grinding of and removal of the brush pile.

This will save the city $4,000 to $6,000, Brown said.
