Iola-Scandy defeats Manawa

After losing by one point to Westfield earlier in the week, the Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds got their first win of the season beating the Manawa Wolves 95-78 at home on Friday night.
I-S took the lead early in the game and outscored the Wolves 52-30 in the first half.
Connor Kurki poured in 16 of his game high 26 points during that period and Charlie Stockwell added 12 more for the T-Birds.
The Wolves came on strong in the second half and out-scored I-S 48-43. Josh Griesbach led the charge, sinking six 3-point shots and scoring 23 points.
Manawa could not overcome the deficit and the T-Birds came away with the win.
Topping the scoring for Manawa was Griesbach with 29 points, followed by Jeven Sachtjen with 11.
Kurki ended the game with 26 points for I-S, followed by Justin Sivertson with 18 and Stockwell with 16.
Both teams will be back in action next week. Manawa will take on Shiocton on Monday, Dec. 4 at home and Iola-Scandinavia will host Antigo on Tuesday, Dec. 5.
