Hebblewhite, John Neil

John Neil Hebblewhite was born on January 17, 1963 to parents Genevieve (Woyak) and Edward Hebblewhite who reside on the home farm in Amherst, WI. John was the second of Ed and Gen’s four children and is survived by his older sister Deb Hebblewhite, Denver, CO, and younger brothers Art (Rebecca) Hebblewhite, Waunakee, WI and Fred (Lori) Hebblewhite, Amherst, WI.

John married the love of his life, Theresa Collins in May of 2002, in Madison, WI where the two of them made their home. Together, they enjoyed spending time working on home projects, taking part in outdoor activities, vacationing in Door County and being ardent Badger and Packer fans. John was a good man who worked hard, was an avid runner, was loyal to family and friends, enjoyed goofing around, and though he was tough as nails – he had a heart of gold.

John attended school in Stevens Point and Amherst and his first job was running the family dairy farm in Lanark. He later worked in welding but spent the majority of his life working with great pride and enjoyment as a Master Electrician. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and served his country as a member of the Seabees, the U.S. Naval Construction Force.

John left peacefully on Christmas morning, 2017 with Theresa by his side. He waged a courageous nineteen-month battle with cancer. In addition to his wife, parents and siblings, John is survived by many nieces and nephews that he loved and enjoyed spending time with.

A celebration of John’s life will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 453 S. Main Street, Amherst, WI. Father Dan Hackel will preside. A visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. A private family burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Amherst. The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements.
