Man arrested for child porn

An online investigation identifies suspect in felony case.

James G. Alexander, 33, New London, is charged with one felony count of possession of child pornography.

In June 2017, Sgt. Michael Fitzpatrick, with the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office, was conducting an undercover investigation to identify computers and IP addresses involved in peer-to-peer sharing of child pornography.

He identified an apartment on Partridge Drive in New London as a source of child pornography downloads.

On Dec. 18, 2017, authorities executed a search warrant on Alexander’s apartment.

They reported finding an external hard drive with 10 pornographic images and one pornographic movie that depicted children under the age of 10.

According to the criminal complaint, Alexander told investigators he was concerned he might end up on the sex offender registry like his father.

Alexander was released from custody after posting a $5,000 cash bond.

Conditions of his bond prohibit him from possessing any device capable of connecting to the internet, including a cellphone, and from having contact with anyone under age 18.

He faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted
