Bessette scores 24 points

The Manawa Wolves defeated Northland Lutheran 57-32 at home in a Central Wisconsin Conference girls’ basketball game Tuesday, Jan. 9.
The Wolves headed to the locker-room at the half leading in the game 35-21. Laynie Bessette sank 16 points and Sami Struzynski another 6 to lead the way.
Bessette continued her scoring drive into the final half, dropping 8 more points. Grace Johnson and Sydney Bailey each added 4, to secure the win for the Wolves.
Topping the scoring for Manawa was Bessette with 24, followed by Bailey with 8 and Johnson with 7.
Leading the way for Northland Lutheran was Kari Kreklau with 10 and Mikayla Obsuszt.
The Wolves will travel to Wisconsin Valley Lutheran on Friday, Jan. 12.
