Lance Bagstad changed his mind and will run for one of the open seats on Clintonville’s city council.
With five seats open on the council, just two people submitted their declaration of candidacy paperwork, which was due Jan. 2, including Chuck Manske (District 2) and Mike Hankins (District 4).
After announcing he would not seek a second term in December, Bagstad wrote on a Clintonville Tribune-Gazette Facebook post saying that he has changed his mind.
“I have made the decision to run as a write-in candidate for my current seat as Alderperson in District 1,” Bagstad wrote. “After much more thought and encouragement from current constituents and others in the City of Clintonville, I have decided to continue my service to the city.”
The spring election will be held on April 3.
