Bobb, Donald J.

Donald J. Bobb, age 85, of Madison, passed away after a courageous battle against cancer on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018 at SSM Health, St. Mary’s Hospital.

He was born in Clintonville, the son of Joseph and Marie (Reizner) Bobb. Don graduated from Clintonville High School, class of 1950, and continued his education in Oshkosh. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and upon his discharge, returned to college for his bachelor’s degree in education from UW-Whitewater. He earned his master’s degree while working and raising his family. Don was a high school counselor in Almond, Wautoma and then retiring from Watertown High School in 1996. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, watching the Packers, and spending time with his family and supporting their athletic accomplishments.

Don is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara; daughters, Brenda (Michael) Pitterle and Bonnie Bobb (Brad Holtz); son, Bruce (Kristine) Bobb; granddaughters, Amanda (Matthew) Margolis, Angela (Jacob) Rohrer, Mackenzie (fiancé, Steven Romanesko) Pitterle, Caroline Bobb and Claudia Bobb; grandson, Bryan (Jennifer) Pitterle; great-grandchildren, Amelia Margolis and Ari Pitterle and expecting Baby Rohrer in May of 2018; nieces, Peggy Troestler and Holly Shephard; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marian (George) Anderson; and nephew, Douglas Anderson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 5313 Flad Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Friday. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
