Daniel Joseph Metko, age 77, of Fremont, Wisconsin passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018.
Dan was born in Mattoon, WI on December 20, 1940 to the late Alfred and Margaret (Johnson) Metko. He served his country in the US Army. Dan worked for 56 years at Miller Electric and loved his job and coworkers like a second family. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching the Packers, fishing and in particular fishing with his grandkids.
Dan is survived by his two sons, Troy (Susan) Metko, Appleton and Ryan (Jennifer) Metko, Brillion; his six grandchildren: Ian, Jana, Grace, Alex, Sean and Sara Metko; his siblings: Tom (Germaine) Metko, Ralph (Pat) Metko, Kathy (Mike) White, Donny (Corrinne) Metko, Nancy (Dick) Eibenholtz, Marge (Wally) Mueller, Bill (Sandy) Metko; sister-in-law, Ella; his ex-wife Lana; and his ex-mother-in-law Hazel Doehr, who he was very close to. Dan was preceded in death by three brothers: Jerry, Al (Audrey) and Erbin Metko.
Dan’s visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24th at the Lewin Funeral Home in Fremont, followed by a short service at 7:15 p.m. Burial will be in Wolf River Cemetery.
