Wolves improve to 7-1

Manawa boys notch home win

Balanced scoring added up to a win for the Manawa boys’ basketball team.

Four players scored in double figures Jan. 26 during the Wolves’ 77-32 Central Wisconsin Conference North Division win over Bowler.

The Wolves outscored the Panthers 46-19 in the first half behind 14 points from Seth Forbes.

Manawa added to its lead by outscoring the visitors 31-13 in the second half.

Forbes led all scorers with 16 points, while Josh Griesbach added 15 and Mason Wiesner and Jeven Sachtjen added 13 each.

Nathan Montez led Bowler with nine points.

The Wolves improved to 7-1 in division play and headed to Door County Jan. 30 for a nonconference game with Gibraltar. Manawa will also play at Wittenberg-Birnamwood at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, before returning to CWC North Division action Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Gresham. Gresham currently leads the division with an 8-0 record.
