Truckers stopped by Foxes

Clintonville basketball loses on the road

The Clintonville girls’ basketball team lost to Fox Valley Lutheran 67-22 on the road Tuesday, Feb. 13.

Elly Arndt led the Truckers with a team-high nine points, while Abby King and Lizzy Weatherwax both scored all four of their points in the second half.

Clintonville’s Madison Dunn scored three points, while Erin Viergutz and Chelsey Birling each added one point.

Fox Valley Lutheran went into halftime leading 43-12 and outscored Clintonville 24-10 in the second half.

“Nothing went right tonight,” Clintonville head coach Nick Yaeger said. “We haven’t been shooting good lately, and that was the case tonight. We are just thankful it wasn’t the last game of the year because that wouldn’t be a good way to go out.”

It was Senior Night for Fox Valley Lutheran, which was led by Jenna Charron, who scored a game-high 17 points.

Jenna Bruss scored 12 of her 13 points in the first half, and Cassidy Duciaume added 11 points.

Brenna Krueger scored nine points, and Bailey Jacobsen added seven for Fox Valley Lutheran, which improved to 15-6 overall and is tied for third place in the North Eastern Conference with a 13-4 record.

Clintonville’s overall record dropped to 4-17 this season including 3-14 in the North Eastern Conference for ninth place in the standings.

The Truckers will close out their regular season with a home game against Oconto Falls on Friday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m.
