George Edward Dufield, age 90, of New London, formerly of Shawano, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Residence.
George was born on September 20, 1927 to the late George B. and Katherine (Hasting) Dufield in Neenah, WI. George was a veteran of the Merchant Marines, Navy and Army. He worked for Boldt and Hennes Erecting, IABSOR Ironworks and was a high rise construction worker.
George is survived by his children, Robert (Ann) Dufield, New London; Mike (Bonnie) Krueger, Marion and Steve (Linda) Krueger, New London; son-in-law, Peter VanMun; several grandchildren, Stacy Dufield (friend Chris), New London; Clifford (Tanya) Miller, TN; Katherine (Jami) Hella, Appleton; Mike (Amy) Krueger, Marion; Matt Krueger, Marion; Brenda (Josh) Hoier, Clintonville; Travis Krueger, New London,;Wendy Krueger, New London and Aaron (Katie) Krueger, New London and several great-grandchildren and a special friend, Shawna Presswood, Marinette. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. George was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia VanMun and numerous brothers and sisters.
The funeral for George will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Neenah. Full military rites will be held at the funeral home.
