OD leads to charges against two women

Haley N. Weis, 26, Fremont, is charged with possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tessa L. Reed, 26, Waupaca, is charged with two counts of felony bail jumping, one count of misdemeanor bail jumping and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At 7:40 a.m. Saturday, March 3, Waupaca Police Officer Diana Flatoff responded to a reported overdose in a guest room at the Comfort Suites on Foxfire Drive.

When she entered the room, Flatoff saw Weis pacing anxiously, a man slumped in the bathtub and Reed standing in the tub next to the man, who was identified as Cody Schultz.

Flatoff also found syringes in the trash, heroin in a backpack and a white powdery residue in a small plastic bag that was among items found in Reed’s purse.

According to the criminal complaint, Weis said she took heroin at 7 p.m. on the previous night. In the morning, she found Schultz on the bathroom floor. His skin was purple and felt hot. She was unable to wake Reed and called a friend to bring Narcan for Schultz.

On Feb. 8, Schultz was convicted of possession of narcotics and forgery uttering.

He was placed on three years of probation with the conditions that he not possess or consume any illegal drugs and that he pay $5,128 in court costs and restitution to his grandmother.

As of March 14, no charges have been filed against Schultz for the March 3 incident.

On Oct. 13, 2017, Reed was charged with possession of methamphetamine. She was released from custody on a $2,000 signature bond.
