A rural Manawa woman was airlifted from the scene of a crash Wednesday afternoon.
Shortly before 12:30 p.m. a 62-year-old woman was northbound on Swamp Road in the town of Union when she came to a stop at the intersection with State Highway 161.
She then failed to yield for a pickup truck that was eastbound on State 161, according to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver of the truck, a 22-year-old rural Manawa man, was unable to stop and collided with the woman’s car.
When officers and emergency responders arrived at the scene, they found the woman trapped inside her car.
Manawa firefighters extricated her from the car and she was flown by helicopter for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck was treated at the scene and released.
This incident remains under investigation. The names have not been released at this time.
