Blanchard, Pastor Gregory Louis

Pastor Gregory Louis “Greg” Blanchard, 74, Green Bay, died Monday, April 2, 2018 at home.

He was born on March 8, 1944, in Odanah, WI to William and Irene (Soulier) Blanchard. Greg graduated from Ashland High School, where he was a State Wrestling Champion. He later graduated with a PHD from Salt Lake Baptist College. On November 30, 1968 Greg married Marian Dolores Miller. As a Baptist Missionary, he planted 24 churches in Arizona and New Mexico primarily. Greg was a Vietnam Veteran with the U.S. Army Special Forces Green Beret. He had a Tuesday morning coffee clutch with other veterans. Greg enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Marian; children, William (Kelly) Blanchard, Peggy Sue (Eric) Rowley; five grandchildren, Courtney, Colin, and Corissa Rowley, and Youvika and Ostin Blanchard; his sister, Lois Weiss; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Greg was preceded in death by a son, Eric Blanchard; his parents; and his siblings, Betty Meller, Fred Blanchard, Neil Blanchard, Bill Blanchard, John Blanchard, and Janet Blanchard.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., Green Bay, from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 5. Visitation will continue at the funeral home from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 6, followed by the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. with Dr. Ralph Cole, Pastor Randy Kruze, and Pastor Rick Sella officiating.
